“Man is born free but everywhere he is in chains” This is a famous statement of Kahil Gibran. India was under British rule for about fifty years and suffered the tyranny of British kingdom. Lot of people suffered a lot and even sacrificed their lives for achieving freedom. Finally we got independence on august 15, 1947. But has the independence really proved value for us. Everywhere we see, in every sector we witness corruption, exploitation by power, cheating, female injustice etc. In that perspective we have ways to go to achieve the real independence and achieve the status of a developed country in 2020.
